Audit Manager (Insurance) - Gibraltar – ACCA Careers

This role is based in Gibraltar and involves working with a range of clients, from start-ups to multinationals.
As an Audit Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of leading and delivering audit engagements, from planning through to completion, with executive-level client interaction and exposure to multiple clients annually.
Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver audit engagements from planning to completion for a broad portfolio of clients.
* Engage in executive-level client interaction and manage multiple client relationships.
* Plan and execute audit fieldwork and statutory reporting.
* Project manage all aspects of the audit, including timelines, team briefings, supervision, and delivery of work.
* Identify, research, and resolve complex audit issues; prepare engagement deliverables.
* Promote quality, regulatory compliance, professional ethics, and KPMG Core Values within the team.
* Foster a collaborative culture within the audit team and with specialists across functions.
* Budget and monitor financial performance of projects; optimise profitability; participate in audit tenders.
* Ensure compliance with independence requirements; prepare and review Independence reports; liaise with global engagement records where applicable.
* Lead, coach, and develop junior staff; stay up-to-date with audit quality, accounting standards, and regulatory changes.
* Engage with the Gibraltar practice to support growth, and liaise with the UK Financial Services team as needed.
Qualifications
* Essential: Fully qualified ACA/ACCA or international equivalent; strong external audit experience at a managerial level within a Big 4 or mid-tier firm; experience auditing Insurance entities; proficient IT literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); good knowledge of IFRS.
* Desirable: Evidence of strong research and knowledge-sharing skills; sound working knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and US GAAP.
* Expertise / Technical Role Requirements:
* Experience auditing Insurance entities; ability to manage complex engagements; decision-making, analytical, time management, and organizational skills; recent external audit leadership experience.
* Fully qualified ACA/ACCA or international equivalent; strong IT skills; practical IFRS knowledge.
