Support Practitioner - Male only*
Location: Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire Learning Disabilities Service (S1JOBS)
Employment: Permanent contract, full-time with part‑time options available
Salary: £24,242 – £25,262 per annum (£12.60 – £13.13 per hour)
We are seeking dedicated support practitioners to provide 24‑hour care for service users. Below are the key responsibilities, qualifications and benefits of the role.
Responsibilities
* Support service users with daily tasks, including managing finances, medication administration, prompting, encouragement and general home assistance
* Accompany users to meals, outings (e.g., Largs) and social activities such as art, drama, boccia and music groups
* Provide support during sleepovers and be available for various shifts throughout the week
* Attend and assist with weekly clubs and optional holiday trips
* Document care activities and report any changes in user wellbeing to the care team
* Travel to service user homes or community locations as required, with mileage paid (45p per mile) and public transport reimbursement
Qualifications & Experience
* No prior working experience required – full training will be provided
* IT skills needed to record and manage user data
* Integrity, respect, compassion, inclusion and a commitment to supporting people with learning disabilities
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and overnight shifts if needed
