Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Director in High Secure services based at Broadmoor hospital. Providing clinical leadership to High Secure Services, working closely with senior trust colleagues and partners in Provider Collaborative/s and other High Secure Hospitals this role is a pivotal one. Key in the coming years will be the evaluation of the Clinical Model, expansion of Research and Development and Patient Safety improvements coupled with the changing commissioning environment through the ICB and Collaborative/s, the service will continue to develop to meet the changing needs of our patients.

Main duties of the job
The below is not exhaustive, however The Clinical Director will
Provide overall clinical leadership to High Secure services, and help ensure the continuous improvement of the quality of care provided within the hospital.
Work in partnership with the Senior Management Team [SMT] to provide strategic leadership to the services and develop a clinical vision and strategy that will be fit for purpose in line with the redevelopment proposals.
Work in collaboration with other senior clinicians from all disciplines to ensure the development of coherent, standardised, clinically effective and patient focussed models of care.
Lead clinical and research governance arrangements in the service, supporting the Research & Development Department of the Trust.
Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to maintain and further develop constructive relationships with key external stakeholders including commissioning partners, Provider Collaborative colleagues and NHS England.
Facilitate effective working relationships between clinical and managerial colleagues built on mutual respect and understanding.
Will maintain a clinical caseload within High Secure Services.

3. Demonstrable experience in Secure Services, at a senior level, with a clinical caseload
4. Experience of management in Secure Services including holding line management responsibility for colleagues of at least grade 8a or above status
5. Experience in delivering major organisational and service change
6. Experience of working successfully at a senior level in complex multi-disciplinary organisation, including contributing to both corporate and hospital goals.
7. Detailed knowledge of legislation responsibilities for the provision of the Mental Health Services.
Desirable criteria
8. Experience in the business planning process including effective control of a substantial budget
9. Experience of working at a senior level with a range of external stake holders, including statutory assurance bodies, and commissioners
