Role: Safety, Health and Environment Advisor
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE) + enhanced pension, benefits and bonus
Location: Tutbury, Burton on Trent
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Seeking a hands on, dynamic and people‑centric professional to provide safety, health and support alongside an experienced SHE Manager.
This position is perfect for an experienced Health Safety and Environment coordinator/officer/advisor who can hit the ground running for this large and well established 24/7 manufacturing site.
Responsibilities
* Support the SHE Manager in all aspects of health, safety and environment across site, covering for the Manager when required.
* Be a valued member of an established HSE team, visible and approachable across the site, bringing innovative and forward‑thinking ideas to the table.
* Establish trusted relationships with the community and external stakeholders.
* Support incident investigations & reporting as required, helping to provide root cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Enhance current levels of compliance, support the maintenance of the factory SHE management systems including maintaining ISO14001, ISO50001 and ISO45001 certification, with a focus on safety and health compliance and proactive management.
* Collaborate across departments, specifically working closely with different teams to ensure compliance and highlight areas of improvement to enhance SHE across the site.
* Implement & develop site initiatives leading to continuous improvement in SHE performance.
Qualifications
* Essential: NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health and Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Level 3).
* Ideally general engineering, manufacturing experience, fast‑paced manufacturing or logistics background; experience in high‑risk industries is a plus. Priority to candidates from FMCG sectors (food & drink, paper, packaging, tobacco, dairy, etc.).
