About the role
1. Under the supervision of the Deputy General Counsel, provide broad based general and commercial legal support to businesses in the Group, including advice on tender proposals; contract drafting, review and negotiation; supporting with intellectual property and IT matters; dealing with ad-hoc customer/supplier complaints; assistance in relation to the Group’s M&A and diversification strategy; data protection matters; and providing first level support in relation to dispute resolution
2. Coordinate external advisors on discreet matters
3. Support with the monitoring and communication of legal updates/training across the Group and advocate best practice
4. Assist with drafting trading and internal company policies and deal with compliance/enforcement issues.

About you
13. English qualified solicitor with 1-4 years’ post qualification experience
14. Experience in a non-contentious commercial or IP/IT role. In-house exposure would be an advantage but is not critical
15. Inquisitive, with a thirst to learn and proactive approach to personal development
16. Adaptable to working in a small team
17. Practical and commercial approach to problem solving
18. Possesses strong analytical skills
19. Excellent oral and written communications skills including:
20. Developing business acumen and commercial and financial awareness
21. Able to work at pace whilst maintaining an accurate, high quality output
22. Highly organised with a well-developed approach to prioritisation
23. Possesses a positive and collegiate attitude
24. Able to adapt swiftly with a willingness to undertake challenging tasks to ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
