Your new role
As a Mechanical Technician, you will:
1. Proactively maintain and operate plant and equipment
2. Ensure adherence to regulatory standards andpliance requirements
3. Maximise equipment effectiveness and efficiency
4. Conduct regular checks and servicing for preventative maintenance
5. Report faults or defects promptly
6. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems (pumps, hydraulic systems, bridges, dock gates, etc.)
What you'll need to succeed
You should have:
7. Mechanical engineering background, preferably in heavy industry
8. Experience with hydraulic equipment, pumps, lock gates, bridges, and PLC equipment
9. Willingness to participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours maintenance
10. Ability to uphold health and safety standards, create Risk Assessments and Method Statements
11. Understanding of Permit to Work systems
12. Experience with CMMS systems and fault reporting
13. Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and legislation (Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER, LOLER, PSSR)
