We invite applicants for a Lecturer in criminology, sociology and Business. This is a pivotal academic role for a dynamic and knowledgeable individual who will contribute to an excellent student experience through research-informed teaching, innovative learning approaches, and strong academic and industry engagement.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of criminology, sociology and business education at the UK higher education level and will actively engage students with real-world business challenges, embedding employability skills and entrepreneurial mindsets throughout the curriculum. Would be advantages to also have criminology and sociology background
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning:
* Design, plan, deliver, and assess student modules to a high stand
* Effectively teach and facilitate learning on a range of modules within the subject area of criminology, sociology and business
* Ensure that module / programme design and delivery comply with the quality standards and regulations
* Employ innovative and inclusive teaching practices, including face-to-face learning, assessments, and case study analysis.
* Provide clear, constructive feedback to support student development, progression, and achievement.
* Undertake personal tutoring, mentoring, and provide academic and pastoral support to students.
Academic Administration and Quality Assurance:
* Contribute to internal quality assurance processes including support to Programme Leader in the process of curriculum enhancement, and assessment boards.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to academic reporting requirements.
Collaboration and Engagement:
* To provide support to the Programme Leader in fostering collaborative links with academic colleagues to enhance the culture of collegiality, industry stakeholders, and business partners to support curriculum relevance and student employability.
Professional Development:
* Maintain professional currency through continuing professional development (CPD) in teaching, research, and industry practice.
Person Specification:
Essential Criteria:
* Need a degree in either criminology or sociology would be an advantage
* Need a degree in business
* Demonstrable experience of teaching and assessment at A-level standard in the UK higher education.
* Strong understanding of current business practices, entrepreneurship, and digital innovation.
* Evidence of curriculum development and student-centred pedagogy.
* Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to inclusive education and supporting student success.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent skills to work within the team and external business partners and the ability to establish good working relationships.
Desirable Criteria:
* PhD (completed or near completion) in a relevant business field.
* Recognised teaching qualification (i.e., PGCert in HE and DET).
* Relevant industry or consultancy experience related to the subject area.
* Experience in collaborative academic projects or enterprise initiatives.
* Membership of CMBE.

Pay: £170.00-£220.00 per day
