An excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Miller to join a well-established and reputable engineering business in Wetherby. Working within a busy machine shop, you will manufacture high-quality precision components, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to customer specifications.
As a CNC Miller, your responsibilities will include:
* Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines (HAAS) using Fanuc controls
* Interpreting engineering drawings, and job specifications to produce components to tight tolerances
* Selecting correct tooling, setting offsets and ensuring machine capability is optimised
* Producing one-off and small batch precision components to a high standard
* Carrying out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using measuring equipment
* Editing programmes at the machine to improve efficiency and resolve issues
* Monitoring machine performance and making adjustments to maintain quality and productivity
* Working to production schedules and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area in line with health & safety standards
* Collaborating with colleagues across production and engineering to ensure smooth workflow
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in CNC milling (setting, operating and ideally programming)
* Strong working knowledge of Fanuc control systems
* Experience working with HAAS machines (highly advantageous) Experience with 3, 4 or 5-axis milling
* Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Experience producing precision components to tight tolerances
* Confident selecting tooling, setting offsets and making programme adjustments
* Understanding of inspection processes and use of measuring equipment
* Experience working with a range of materials (steel, alloys or similar) Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively
* A proactive, positive attitude with strong attention to detail
