About the role
Wheatley Homes East, part of Wheatley Group, provides affordable housing and outstanding services for people in its communities. Our Heating Team delivers a compliance service as well as repairs maintenance for Wheatley’s customers in the Edinburgh and wider areas across the east of Scotland.
We are looking for people who take pride in their work, deliver excellent customer service, and help us achieve our targets for repair and servicing response times, whilst getting repairs right first time.
The position of Trade Team Leader is within our Repairs department based at our workshop in Bilston Glen Industrial Estate. Reporting directly to the Area Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of gas engineers, to deliver a high quality, customer focussed service, including repairs, installations and compliance work throughout Wheatley Homes East.
You will be joining a team of experienced team leaders who are responsible for providing excellent customer service, value for money and ensure compliance across all aspect of health and safety.
The preferred candidate will have a recognised and up to date trade qualification in Gas/Heating (SVQ 3 or equivalent). Have previous experience of working in the repairs industry ideally within social housing and have practical experience of health and safety legislation and be familiar with CDM.
Who are we looking for?
* Experience of leading a multi-disciplinary team, providing people management, coaching and mentoring where required;
* Experience in performance management to deliver outcomes which meet the agreed targets for all customers we provide service for;
* Managing works as a project such as void repairs, cyclical programmes and investment works;
* Managing works to within budget and value for money;
* Management of contractors meeting service and health and safety requirements;
* Preparing and holding Toolbox Talks both on site and office based; and
* Practical experience of health and safety legislation.
This role is subject to a satisfactory Level 1 Disclosure check.
