Shift Pattern
12:30 – 20:30 Monday – Friday (37 hours per week). Effective 1 April 2026, the full‑time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours.

Role Overview
The core activity of the Central Decontamination Unit at Wren Road, Greenock is the decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilisation and distribution of reusable medical devices in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Responsibilities
* Perform decontamination, assembly and sterilisation of reusable medical devices.
* Package and distribute processed equipment to the relevant clinical sites.
* Maintain accurate records of device processing and inventory.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the unit.
Qualifications & Experience
* Good general education including literacy and numeracy skills.
* Manual dexterity and basic information technology knowledge.
* Applicants should have English and Maths qualifications at National 5 level or equivalent.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to carry out tasks effectively in a busy environment.
* Willingness to undertake on‑the‑job induction and complete departmental competencies.
* Completion of all statutory / mandatory training and HCSW standards.
* No prior experience required – full training will be provided.
