Reporting to the Group Manager (Parking Services), you will be part of a team that delivers an effective parking service for Glasgow.
You will assist in designing major parking control schemes and minor parking restriction measures, managing the statutory Traffic Regulation Order process, overseeing works programmes, enforcing existing on-road parking restrictions and bus priority measures, and maintaining the city's parking assets.
The role requires the ability to produce reports, collate performance data, liaise with external contractors and other bodies, and meet project deadlines within budget. You should also provide technical advice, respond to public and elected members’ correspondence, and attend site meetings or public exhibitions as needed.
Applicants must have at least an HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline, possess good communication skills, be proficient in IT, and hold a current UK driving license. Attendance at meetings outside standard hours is required.
Proficiency in using 2D AutoCAD is essential, and knowledge of KEYLines software within AutoCAD is desirable. An AutoCAD test will be part of the interview process, lasting approximately 10 minutes.
Experience in roads, traffic, or road safety environments, report writing, works planning, budget management, and knowledge of UK roads and traffic legislation are advantageous.
This position offers hybrid working, requiring attendance at the office at least 60% of the time over a 10-day period.
