Salary - Band 5. An opportunity has arisen for a Motor vehicle technician to work as part of the Fleet Maintenance Department for the North West Ambulance Service. This is part of the shift system and is set out on a two-shift pattern to cover seven days per week, working within the hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm Monday to Friday and 7:00am to 6:00pm Saturday and Sunday.
We have one vacancy within the Cheshire and Merseyside area and will be based at the Haydock Workshop.

NWAS Fleet Operations sits within the wider NHS umbrella and provides the vital support service to a significantly sized ambulance fleet. With over 1150 vehicles, the team works to maximise vehicle throughput and reduce workshop delays and supply chain frustrations.
Role and Team
Mechanic. Technicians are supported by a dedicated management team to ensure the team has everything needed to complete tasks. The hours are in line with the current shift system, split across two teams over a seven-day week. The working week is typically 37.5 hours over a two-week cycle (4 days on week one, 3 days on week two).
Operational Context
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24/7 emergency services and non-emergency patient transport services. The service supports 24/7 emergency medical treatment and patient transport, as well as NHS 111 in the North West.
