We are looking for an Operations Support colleague to join our site team, providing essential administrative and coordination support across all functions within the business.
Finsbury Food Group is a leading speciality bakery manufacturer. We constantly raise quality and efficiency standards, and build long-term relationships with major multiple retailers and the foodservice channel. Established in 1985, Kara offers a wide range of quality sweet and savoury bakery products, including both gourmet butter and vegan brioche buns, doughballs and teacakes. The Kara Bakery can bake over 1 million baps and burger buns every day.
This is a varied and fast-paced role at the heart of the operation, supporting the smooth and efficient running of the site. You'll work closely with multiple departments, helping to coordinate activities that ensure safe, high-quality product manufacture. It's an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build experience in a manufacturing environment, with real opportunities for development and progression.
This is what you'll actually do
As an Operations Support colleague, you'll provide administrative support across all functions on site, ensuring daily activities run smoothly and efficiently.
You'll carry out a range of general administrative tasks including ordering office supplies and staff provisions, arranging buffets, setting up boardrooms for meetings, and supporting preparation for tiered meetings and OBP projects. You'll maintain site notice boards, coordinate and confirm occupational health visits, and support QAS-related administration and system updates.
You'll work confidently across Microsoft Office applications and site systems, ensuring documentation, reports, and communications are accurate and up to date. You'll always handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially.
You'll regularly liaise with colleagues across Operations, Technical, Hygiene, and other site functions whilst building strong working relationships and proactively identifying where support is needed.
You'll also ensure compliance with food safety and Health & Safety standards, taking responsibility for your own safety and supporting a positive site culture.
To be successful in this role, you'll be proactive, organised, and confident communicating with people at all levels. You'll be comfortable working independently, taking ownership of tasks, and using your initiative to get things done whilst also being a supportive team player. This role offers great variety, exposure to different departments, and a strong introduction to manufacturing operations, with genuine opportunities to grow and develop within the site.
Ideally this is you
Previous experience in an administrative or manufacturing environment (advantageous)
Confident using Microsoft Office and general IT systems
Strong reading, writing, numeracy, and computer literacy skills
Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Clear and confident communicator
Self-starter who takes initiative and ownership
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Organised, reliable, and detail-focused
Professional and discreet when handling sensitive information
