Café Manager - Job Description
Part-time: 25 hours
Salary: £24 – 26k (pro rata salary approx £17,800)
Purpose of Role:
To oversee the day-to-day running of the Café, Deli, and Events held on site, ensuring excellent customer service, food safety, smooth operations, and a supportive environment for staff and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage the daily café operations, including opening/closing, staff rotas, and cash handling.
* Ensure compliance with food hygiene, fire regulations, health & safety, and allergen regulations.
* Supervise café team members and volunteers, providing on-the-job training and support.
* Monitor stock levels, place orders with suppliers, and manage stock rotation to reduce waste.
* Maintain high standards of customer care, handling complaints and feedback appropriately.
* Ensure cleaning schedules and kitchen checks are completed and recorded.
* Track daily/weekly café sales and report to management.
* Manage events and/or catering activities as required.
Skills & Attributes
* Strong people skills and team supervision experience.
* Knowledge of food hygiene, café operations, and customer service.
* Practical, hands-on approach with attention to detail.
* Ability to stay calm under pressure and resolve issues quickly.
* Flexible and adaptable to changing needs of a community café.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £17,000.00-£18,000.00 per year
