The Role
Deal Advisory Tax provides market leading services to both Financial and Corporate investors. We have teams focused on clients in three performance groups: Financial Services, Corporates, and National Markets. We are a national, connected team, working and learning together.
* Financial Services: We work with private equity, infrastructure, real estate funds, and institutional investors such as sovereign wealth funds and pension funds. Our clients have UK, European, and Global investment strategies.
* Corporates: We work with FTSE 100 and 250 companies, supporting strategic acquisitions, carve outs, de-mergers, disposals, and joint ventures in the UK and cross-border.
* National Markets: We work across the UK with mid-market corporates and PE funds to invest in key sectors and grow local economies.
The Deal Advisory Tax team offers services across the deal spectrum, including buy-side due diligence, structuring, sell-side vendor assistance, refinancing, and listings. Deal sizes range from £10m to over £10bn. We help clients understand tax issues and structure transactions to maximize value, often involving multiple countries and taxes.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with Partners and Directors on complex transactions to deliver excellent advice
* Support in pursuing new opportunities, proposals, and pitches
* Develop and maintain client relationships
* Serve as a key contact for clients, legal advisers, and KPMG teams
* Coach and develop colleagues, collaborate with peers, and continue learning
* Prepare and oversee detailed technical advice on UK and international tax issues
* Analyze tax documents and data, highlighting key issues and their commercial impact
* Collaborate with UK and overseas tax specialists, critically analyzing their input
* Stay updated on UK and OECD tax developments
* Understand financial models from a tax perspective
* Contribute to Deal Advisory Tax thought leadership
The Person
* Qualified CTA, ACA/CA, or equivalent
* Ambitious, enthusiastic, and interested in transactions
* Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
* Solid UK corporate tax knowledge and awareness of other tax and accounting matters
* Strong analytical skills, curiosity, and a commercial approach
* Excellent project management skills, team player, proactive
* Ability to build and maintain client relationships and lead teams
* Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
