About The Role
Senior IT Systems Engineer – a role that involves working with new and exciting technologies on one of the UK’s largest IT infrastructures. The successful candidate will handle day‑to‑day tickets of varying complexity, assist in deploying new projects and services, and support the overall systems estate.
This position is hybrid – you’ll work 3 days a week from the head office in Barton‑upon‑Humber.
Main Responsibilities
* Ensure the systems estate is optimally configured and effectively managed, adhering to best practice and Wren architectures
* Perform IT systems support
* Be on‑call as the point of escalation every 4 weeks
* Plan, install and maintain systems components and services
* Deliver projects
* Act as escalation point for the Service Desk
* Liaise with third parties as necessary
* Manage and maintain systems monitoring tools
* Maintain accurate system documentation
* Maintain knowledge of systems, ensuring dependencies are understood and managed
* Build reports that provide a proactive systems service

About You
We are looking for a professional and pragmatic approach to systems troubleshooting and support.
Desired skills & knowledge
* Experience as an escalation point
* Practical experience administering current Windows Server operating systems
* Good to excellent understanding of using and administering Active Directory
* PowerShell scripting
* Office 365 administration and maintenance experience
* Understanding of IT service delivery
