We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Practice Manager to join our team, following the retirement of the current post-holder.
With approximately 120 staff across five offices (Battle, Bexhill, Eastbourne, Hastings, and Rye), this key leadership role supports the Managing Partner and manages an Operations team overseeing HR, premises and facilities, IT, health & safety, and training functions, while assisting with legal compliance, finance, and payroll.
This is a full-time role based in one of our offices (preferably our Head Office in Hastings) with opportunities for home-working. You will help shape strategy and manage daily operations. The role requires excellent communication, sound judgment, and adaptability to changing priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Recruitment, onboarding, and staff management
2. Office and facilities management
3. Health and safety compliance
4. Supplier and contract management
5. Staff training and wellbeing initiatives
6. Payroll, pensions, and insurance
7. Strategic planning and project delivery
Candidate requirements:
An experienced professional with a background in operational and HR management within professional services (ideally law firms), excellent interpersonal skills, and a proactive, flexible approach.
