Main duties of the job
Tosupport the Practice nursing team in the delivery of nursing services, workingas part of the Practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within theirscope of practice to the entitled patient population. The healthcare assistant will deliver andassist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, healthpromotion and patient education.

Job responsibilities
Thefollowing are the core responsibilities for this role. There may be onoccasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent uponfactors such as workload and staffing levels.
* Undertakehealth checks, including NHS health checks
* Supportthe clinical team with health promotion programmes
* Carryout baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature,pulse rate, recording findings accurately
* Facilitateroutine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly
* Whentrained, undertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required
* Supportthe clinical team with the management of chronic disease clinics
* Carryout BMI checks as directed
* Act asa chaperone as required
* AdministerB12, Flu and other appropriately tasked vaccinations
* Supportlong term conditions
* Carryout ECGs as requested
* Ensurespecimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
* Providesupport during minor operations as required
* Supportwith ensuring all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for eachsession
* Ensurefridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidance
* Ensureclinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced inaccordance with the practice policy
* Deliver opportunistic health promotion whereappropriate
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Healthcare qualification (level 3 or 4) or working towards gaining equivalent level
* Ear syringing certification
