About The Role

Lecturer – Sport and Public Services

Location: EKC Canterbury College

We are looking for a passionate and motivated individual to join our popular Sport and Public Services Department as a Lecturer. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire and support learners in a dynamic and supportive teaching environment.

Key Responsibilities Include

* Teaching, training, and assessing students across a variety of learning environments
* Ensuring a high-quality learning experience for all students
* Providing academic and pastoral support to help learners achieve their full potential
* Leading on designated study programmes and/or courses
* Designing, delivering, and evaluating engaging and effective curriculum content

* Has relevant experience or a background in Sport or Public Services
* Is passionate about education and supporting student success
* Can adapt to different teaching and learning environments
* Works well as part of a team and is committed to continuous improvement

No teaching experience? No problem!

This role is for 18.5 hours per week with a pro rata salary of £17,365 up to £19,044 per annum

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who can bring energy, creativity, and structure to the classroom. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and supporting learners to achieve their full potential.

You Will

* Be highly organised and creative, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging, innovative lessons
* Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Be confident in assessing and tracking student progress, using this information to plan effective interventions
* Be passionate about helping students develop the skills they need to succeed in both education and future employment
* Hold experience in delivering Public Services study programmes at both Level 2 and Level 3 (essential)
* Have the ability to also contribute to Sports or Coaching courses (desirable)
* Be able to motivate and inspire learners to engage fully with their programmes of study
* Bring a positive, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with students
* Possess strong classroom management skills and maintain a purposeful learning environment

Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Lecturer positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Employees can move up the salary scale once one full academic year of teaching for our group is complete, subject to approval. Therefore, internal applicants may qualify for the higher salary scale, although should seek clarification.
