About the Role
Applications are invited from qualified Sergeants (supported) and substantive Inspectors who are seeking an opportunity at Inspector level within the Counter Terrorism Policing Borders (CTPB) team.
This role is at the forefront of efforts to protect national security from the threats posed by hostile states and terrorism. The overall purpose is to manage and oversee a team of Border professionals who manage known and unknown threats and risks posed by individuals and groups seeking to travel across borders in furtherance of terrorism and threats to national security, working in the ports environment and engaging with members of the travelling public, aircraft, vessels, and freight from all over the world.
Key Responsibilities
• Work closely with national, regional, and local policing units, external partners, security partners and other relevant businesses as part of overseeing and leading counter‑terrorism, national‑security and safeguarding operations at the UK border.
• Travel mainly across the South East region and occasionally throughout the UK; a full UK driving licence is required.
• Cover the on‑call rota for CTPSE Borders and work at least one weekend in six at one of the regional hubs.
Requirements
• Must obtain and maintain vetting level DV together with enhanced security checks.
• British National, having resided in the UK for the past ten years (with exemptions for overseas diplomats or students studying abroad).
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
