A quick look at the role.
The role holder will effectively drive engineering activities at Biffa MBT facility to deliver all operational aspects of the facility. The role involves ensuring plant availability through timely completion of PPMs, reactive maintenance, engineering, and process improvements. The role also emphasizes driving best practices on a shift basis, maintaining high engineering, compliance, and H&S standards.
Your core responsibilities include:
* Responding reactively to machinery problems and breakdowns, as well as performing planned preventative maintenance and project work. Electrical work involves sensors, relays, ac/dc motors, contactors, control panels, and PLCs. Fault finding on PLCs, preferably Siemens S7, is desirable.
* Having experience in a similar environment, such as manufacturing, industrial, or automated systems, supporting maintenance work. Electrical qualification and competence are required.
* Reporting all accidents, incidents, and near misses immediately.
* Maintaining housekeeping standards.
* Motor electrical and mechanical fault finding, familiarity with MCC panel layouts.
* Working with controls and instrumentation like temperature and pressure transducers, flow meters, etc. Ability to read electrical drawings and diagnose faults. Knowledge of PLC hardware.
Requirements:
* HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
* BS7671 18th edition (advantageous).
* Experience in roles such as Electrical Engineer, Maintenance Electrician, Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Technician, Maintenance Technician, Electrical Fitter, Service Engineer, Industrial Electrician, Shift Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Engineering Technician, Plant Maintenance Engineer, Facilities Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Controls Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor, or Automation Technician will be considered.
