Main duties
We are seeking a dynamic tissue viability clinical lead to drive excellence in wound care and tissue viability across the organisation. The senior clinical role combines specialist expertise with leadership, education, and service improvement. For this role you will lead the development and implementation of evidence‑based strategies, influence practice across multidisciplinary teams, and ensure high quality patient care.

* Masters level, or equivalent in Tissue Viability and Wound Therapy (or working towards)
* Degree in either Tissue Viability or Community Nursing
* Membership NMC
* M Level independent prescribing qualification
* Minor Procedures including conservative sharp debridement
* Advanced lower limb module
Experience
* Experience of managing caseload and delegating to senior staff, junior staff and assistants
* Significant post‑graduation experience in Tissue Viability and Wound Therapy Service
* Significant post‑graduate experience in management of patients with complex wounds
* Experience of participation in service planning and development
* Experience of evaluating outcomes of service
* Evidence of high organisational and time management skills

* Experience of use of diagnostic tests including dopplers
* Evidence of staff management and development
* Experience of writing policy guidelines

Person Specification – Qualifications and Professional Registration
* Registered healthcare professional (NMC, HCPC or equivalent).
* Evidence of post‑graduation education in tissue viability, wound care or related fields MSc level.
* Additional leadership/management qualification (e.g. level 7, MSc, PGDip).
* Conservative Sharp Debridement qualification/competency.
Desirable
* Nurse Prescribing Qualification.
Clinical Expertise – Essential
* Advanced knowledge of tissue viability, wound management, pressure ulcer prevention, and leg ulcer care.
* Experience providing specialist advice, education, and mentorship to multidisciplinary teams.
* Awareness of national guidance, NICE standards, and best practice frameworks.
Desirable
* Experience designing and delivering training programme for clinical staff.
Leadership and Management – Essential
* Proven experience in leading clinical teams or projects, ideally across multiple services.
* Ability to develop and implement clinical strategies and policies.
* Experience in service evaluation, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Competence in risk management, governance and incident investigation.

* Leadership higher level course Level 7.
