Lead Data Engineer
Synchro have partnered with a leading and recognised organisation, who are investing heavily in their data and platform strategy. We are hiring for a Lead Data Engineer to help shape and build that future.
This is a critical hire in a period of significant transformation. This organisation has undergone major technical changes and are currently rolling out a large-scale new system / platform to support their evolving business. You’ll be a senior voice in defining how that rebuild takes place, and will modernise the existing data infrastructure, working closely with both UK and wider global teams.
In this role, you will lead the rebuild of an existing data platform, guiding the design, architecture, and development of a scalable, modern solution. Further to this, you’ll be trusted to advise and influence technology decisions.
Partnering with product, technology, and leadership teams, you will embed and help embrace AI and algorithmic thinking into the data strategy.
A large part of this will also be around driving reporting and insights, improving self-service analytics, reporting and dashboarding functionality across the business.
This role will be predominantly remote, with monthly meetup's with the team in Birmingham.
What’s required:
* Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Data Engineer in a complex, fast-changing environment.
* Strong understanding of Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric. Experience with Looker and Big Query is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of Redshift and Apache Iceberg is also nice-to-have.
Role Summary:
Role: Lead Data Engineer
Location: Predominantly remote, with occasional meetups with the team in Birmingham.
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + benefits including an excellent non-contributory pension.
