Overview

This is a fixed term / secondment opportunity in Pain and Rehabilitation Team. The postholder will be responsible for development, delivery and evaluation of the Physiotherapy service within the Rehabilitation and Pain Management Service. You will be working alongside an established MDT including Consultants, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurses, Therapy Technicians and administrative staff to deliver an inpatient rehabilitation programme and outpatient service.


Responsibilities

* Provide a high standard of physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice to patients, carers and families. Undertake the lead role in the assessment, diagnosis and formulation of physiotherapy treatment plans.
* Be a physiotherapy lead within the multi-disciplinary team, providing specialist advice to other specialist health professionals, both internally and externally.
* Provide clinical supervision, teaching and act as a source of specialist advice to students, junior and Band 6 physiotherapists and assistants.
* Work closely with Consultants, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Psychologists to deliver self-management programmes for people with conditions including persistent pain or widespread pain, rheumatological conditions, hypermobility.
* To provide specialist advice and training to the multi-disciplinary team (including consultants) and external agencies, including other specialist physiotherapists nationally and internationally.
* To provide cover for managerial and clinical tasks in the temporary absence of another member of the team, as appropriate to own level of experience.
* Support the team’s service development and delivery of evidence based practice through service evaluation, clinical audit and research.
