Financial Systems Analyst

The role
Our Finance team aims to provide a best-in-class service to our clients and colleagues regarding the financial aspects of our business. Our specialisms include client billing, credit control, supplier invoice processing and payment. We also support with the strategic management of the firm, protecting our financial interests and ensuring we’re responsive to the changing needs of the business.
We are looking for a dynamic Financial Systems Analyst to join our Finance team. This role focuses on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing our financial system, Aderant, ensuring system performance, integration, and reporting functions meet the evolving needs of our business. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Finance Systems & Business Intelligence Developer, playing a crucial role in the development and execution of financial information systems projects.
What you’ll be doing
System Support & Enhancement
1. Provide ongoing support for the Aderant Expert Sierra system and resolve user issues collaborating with both the Finance and Technology teams where necessary.
2. Proactively suggest and implement system improvements to optimise financial operations.
3. Ensure data integrity within the Aderant system through regular audits and corrections.
Reporting & Analysis
4. Develop and maintain financial reports using a combination of SQL queries, Microsoft Reporting Services, Excel, and Power BI, ensuring timely and accurate information is available.
5. Work with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective, automated reports and dashboards as well as providing ad-hoc reports when required.
6. Support the creation of billing templates for electronic and paper billing processes using Docudraft.
System Maintenance & Troubleshooting
7. Identify and troubleshoot system and reporting issues, working with internal teams and external vendors as necessary.
8. Monitor system integrations and perform preventive maintenance to avoid data processing issues.
Training & Documentation
9. Develop comprehensive user manuals and training materials for finance systems and applications.
10. Conduct training sessions for Finance team members where necessary to enhance system utilisation and efficiency.
Project Involvement
11. Participate in finance-related projects, including system upgrades and new system integrations, from planning through to execution.
Skills and experience we’re looking for
Key Requirements
12. Proven experience supporting Aderant in a Sierra cloud environment.
13. Knowledge of Aderant Expert Framework and Classic, including:
14. Time, Billing, Rates, Entity Manager, General ledger, Accounts receivables, Credit Control, Expert Admin, Configuration manager.
15. Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables) are essential. Experience with Excel VBA/macros and Microsoft Power Automate is desirable.
16. Familiarity with Docudraft, Aderant Design Studio, and Aderant Generic Importer is highly valued.
17. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, or equivalent experience.
Skills & Abilities
18. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
19. Proficiency in SQL query writing and report development.
20. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
21. Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with both Finance and Technology teams.
22. A detail-oriented approach with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
