About The Role And Our Ideal Candidate
* Knowledge of homelessness legislation (Housing Act 1996 Parts VI & VII) and welfare benefits.
* Ability to manage a varied caseload and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Confidence working with vulnerable households and managing challenging situations.
* Strong communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
* Capability to build effective relationships with landlords, agents and partner organisations.
* Good IT skills and meticulous record‑keeping.
* Commitment to delivering high‑quality, customer‑focused services.
Responsibilities
* Allocate temporary accommodation in line with legislation and suitability requirements.
* Procure accommodation from landlords, hotels and agents within agreed cost limits.
* Inspect properties, manage voids and ensure health & safety compliance.
* Support households to move into longer‑term housing options, including private rented accommodation.
* Liaise with landlords and providers to resolve repairs and tenancy issues.
* Conduct viewings and property visits, including lone working.
* Prepare decision letters and maintain accurate case records.
* Work to service targets and statutory obligations under the Housing Act 1996.
