Job Description:
We are seeking experienced High Voltage Commissioning Engineers to support substation infrastructure projects across the Central Belt of Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for the commissioning of electrical systems on high-voltage (HV) substations (typically 33kV to 400kV), ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and perform commissioning of HV substation equipment including protection and control systems, switchgear, transformers, and auxiliary systems.
* Develop and execute commissioning procedures, test plans, and method statements.
* Carry out functional testing, interface testing, and end-to-end system verification.
* Ensure accurate and timely completion of commissioning documentation and handover packs.
* Liaise with the construction and design teams to resolve technical issues during commissioning.
* Conduct fault finding and system diagnostics where required.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
* Participate in client and stakeholder meetings, reporting progress and technical findings.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in high-voltage substation commissioning (minimum 33kV, ideally up to 400kV).
* Strong knowledge of protection and control systems.
* Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and protection settings.
* Strong understanding of HV safety rules and procedures.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the Central Belt.
