About the Role
We have an opening for a Tech Writer to provide Technical Publications support via tasks listed below:
This will include:
1. Provide support and specialist advice to the ILS programme leads on technical publications requirements.
2. Generate Aircrew Publications
3. Produce technical publications to a variety of industry-standard specifications to a high standard and within set timescales. This includes both Military and Commercial standards.
4. Validate publications ensuring a high-standard of technical publication production.
5. Support continuous improvement of the processes for technical publications, and where possible improve the performance measurements.
6. Support the development of project-specific Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
7. Provide timely notification to the Technical Publications Lead of any potential problems, and proposed solutions.
8. Develop and support Databases to support:
9. Internal LM MF765 process
10. Technical Publications Graphics Library
11. Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) Technical Manuals.
12. Carry out Problem Tracking Reports (PTR) assessments including the raising of associated MF765s to close-out the tasks
13. The status and configuration issues for the technical publications and to status Tech Pubs updates, amendments and Corrections (F765’s)
14. Support the management of the CIETP updates amendments and Corrections (F765’s) for LM programmes.
15. Provide support to the co-ordination of deliveries and updates to technical publications.
16. Provide ILS interface to LM at Merlin Training Facility (MTF) at RNAS Culdrose
17. Provide Technical Publications support.
18. Maintain the Merlin Logistics Support Analysis Records (LSAR) for LM workshare
19. Preparation of Special Category Work (SCW) claims.
20. Support the EPRMs and provide support to review meetings.
21. Comply with legislative requirements and Company and department procedures.
The role will not be authorized to provide services to or by Lockheed Martin UK, which are directly related to business development, acquisition, or sales efforts for a Lockheed Martin UK customer or potential customer. Any exception to this rule can only be granted, in advance, by the Lockheed Martin UK Ltd, Integrated Systems, Havant representative.
Contractor/Agency to be responsible for maintaining adequate liability insurance, certifications, accreditations, and training required to perform their tasks.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
22. Extensive experience, including 5 in aerospace (military/commercial)
23. Proficient knowledge and experience using Framemaker software
24. Detailed experience of authoring Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) content (specifically Air Publications or Books of Reference (BRs)
25. Knowledge and experience of producing Data Module content for Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETP)
26. Understanding of Def Stan 0060/00600 and Defence Logistics Framework (DLF) requirements
27. Knowledge and experience of ILS disciplines and the associated interactions
