This role involves assisting children crossing the road in the morning and afternoon, ensuring their safety at the crossing and surrounding areas.
Candidate Profile
We seek a punctual, reliable, approachable individual who enjoys engaging with the public.
Working Hours & Benefits
Approximately 7.5 hours per week, during 39 weeks of the academic year, with shifts of 45 minutes in the morning (08:00 - 09:00) and afternoon (14:45 - 15:45). Uniform, equipment, and training are provided, and holiday pay is included.
Responsibilities
1. Consider the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility-impaired pedestrians.
2. Maintain contact with the schools served by the crossing.
3. Assess risks regularly and report issues to your supervisor.
4. Assist in preparing reports on incidents at the crossing.
5. Maintain the condition of uniform and equipment, requesting replacements when needed.
6. Signal clearly to drivers to stop traffic when pedestrians are crossing and ensure the road is clear before allowing traffic to proceed.
