What You'll Be Doing
You’ll play a key role in keeping the plant running smoothly, combining planned maintenance with fast‑paced reactive work. From fault finding to installing new machinery, this is a role where your mechanical skills will be fully utilised.
Your day‑to‑day will include:
* Maintaining and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Welding, fabrication, and mechanical fitting
* Responding to breakdowns and keeping downtime to a minimum
* Supporting machinery installations and upgrades
* Working safely while keeping clear, accurate reports
What We're Looking For:
* NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds (or time‑served apprenticeship)
* Experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
* Practical skills in welding/fabrication and general maintenance
* A proactive, team‑focused approach
* Experience with slitting/decoiling machinery is a bonus, not essential.
Shifts & Overtime:
* Rotating 2‑shift pattern (days, afternoons)
* Regular overtime available, including weekends
