Join our team at M&S as a Customer Assistant in our Bakery section, where you\'ll become a champion of our delicious baked goods. We\'re seeking passionate individuals with a love for baking and a deep understanding of bakery products to deliver fresh perspectives every day. You\'ll be a brand ambassador who’s ready to recommend our delicious bakery products and ensure customers feel valued every time they shop with us.
Work Pattern
* Week 1: Tuesday 11:30 - 20:30; Friday 11:30 - 20:30; Saturday 4:30 - 12:30
* Week 2: Sunday 07:00 - 16:00; Thursday 11:30 - 20:30; Friday 09:30 - 18:30
Responsibilities
* Deliver a great customer experience on the shop floor and at service points
* Represent the brand and promote bakery products through remarkable service
* Utilise digital tools and channels to enhance the customer experience
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene
* Work flexibly across store areas as required
* Support a positive, inclusive store environment and respect colleagues and customers
* Act with pace and in line with SOPs, minimising waste and managing costs
Qualifications & Capabilities
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Digital confidence and ability to use digital tools (e.g., Sparks App)
* Team player with adaptability to changing retail demands
* Strong product knowledge and ability to sell and recommend products
* Ability to work across different areas of the store
* Ability to work quickly and accurately with attention to detail
* Committed to food safety, hygiene, and safe working practices
* Open to feedback and focused on continuous learning
Technical Skills / Experience
* Knowledge of customer shopping channels and digital tools
* Knowledge of VM principles and store operating standards
* Ability to identify selling opportunities and meet customer needs
* Experience working across the store to complete tasks correctly and on time
Minimum/Key Requirements
