Eastern ODN Outreach Van Driver/Administrator

We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen within the Eastern Hepatitis C Operational Delivery Network (ODN) for a full‑time Outreach driver.

We are looking for a well‑organised, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the Operational Delivery Network team by managing and driving the clinical outreach van to varied locations in the Eastern region. It is important to have a flexible working approach to this role as service needs can differ weekly.

A full clean British driving licence is required.


Main duties of the job

The role is to support the Operational Delivery Network by driving the clinical van to events, ensuring the van is well maintained, cleaned and well stocked. The role will also provide administrative duties and customer service skills in relation to community van and events.

The ability to work well under pressure, be organised and have excellent communication and administrative skills are essential. You must be able to liaise with staff at all levels, in a confident manner, be willing to learn and be able to work both independently and within a team. You must be well presented, friendly and welcoming to all and uphold our values of Safe, Kind and Excellent at all times.


Job responsibilities

The role requires you to drive the clinical van, maintain it, manage supplies, conduct administrative tasks, and provide outstanding customer service at community events.

Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full‑time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Therefore, if you are a Student visa holder, we will not be able to offer you a full‑time permanent contract unless you have:

* Applied for a Graduate visa or
* You have successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment, or
* The Trust has agreed to sponsor you as a Skilled Worker and you will complete your studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date of employment.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Literate, with good English language skills (written and verbal)
* Full UK driving licence
* Flexibility with hours and days worked to accommodate service needs (available to work early mornings or later days when required)


Experience

* Previous experience as a driver
* Experience of dealing with members of the general public
* Experience of prioritising, planning, and organising own tasks
* Experience of working within guidelines
* Experience of dealing with difficult situations and confrontations
* NHS experience


Knowledge

* Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
* Knowledge and understanding of infection control measures
* Knowledge of Hepatitis C and its impact
* Understanding of issues of diversity and the principles of equal opportunities, as they relate to both staff management and service provision.


Skills

* Ability to work as part of a team
* Excellent communication skills including telephone, email, face to face
* Familiar with Outlook, internet searching, use of Google Maps
* Basic numeracy skills
* Ability to organise and manage own time keeping scheduling and deadlines
* Ability to use own initiative and work autonomously
* Willing to take on/learn new skills
* Ability to show attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to adapt to change
* Ability to work under pressure
* Ability to have good map reading and navigation skills.
* Confident in new situations with new people

* The ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent.
