SLR's Exeter transport planning team provides advice to clients across sectors including residential, commercial, retail, and energy on projects ranging from new settlements to small-scale landowner developments.
We work across the private and public sectors, primarily focusing on the southwest peninsula and the south coast of England. Our team is agile, with projects extending across the UK and collaborations with international colleagues in the USA and Australia.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Planning professional to join at Principal grade, to assist with project delivery, client management, and team leadership within the Exeter office.
What you will do:
* Utilize professional judgment and initiative to develop effective solutions.
* Deliver Vision Led Transport Assessments, Statements, and Travel Plans.
* Assist with broader transport planning services, including bespoke EV advisory services.
* Manage client relationships to secure work and negotiate fee proposals.
* Plan and execute marketing activities.
* Ensure the profitability of designated projects.
* Keep updated on relevant technical, legal, and policy developments.
* Develop colleagues within the project team.
* Provide guidance on quality assurance and technical issues.

About you:
* Relevant degree and membership of a professional body (e.g., MCIHT).
* Experience in transport planning within a consultancy or similar environment.
* Proven project delivery, leadership, and client management skills.
* Strong software modeling skills, e.g., ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG.
