Lecturer in Vocational Business. Position Available at Newcastle College Site. Full and Part Time Positions Available. We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual with relevant experience to teach on our outstanding business courses and play a crucial role in realising the department’s strategic objectives. You will be an inspiring lecturer with a background in delivering Vocational Business and the ability to deliver varied, high‑quality and imaginative sessions, and have a record of good achievement rates. You will teach across a range of units on the BTEC Level 2 and 3 curriculum (finance, branding, visual merchandising, team building, etc.). We are also excited to be delivering the T‑Level in Business Management and Administration from September 2023. Our ideal candidate will be an inspiring lecturer with a proven record of innovation and a pro‑active approach to delivery, including Level 2 and the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business.
You will have demonstrated an understanding and sensitivity towards the needs of your learners and use this to help them reach their true potential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality teaching on Business across the full range of the department’s provision.
* Teach remotely, learning and assessment via appropriate platforms when required.
* Play an active role in marketing the College and the Department through activities such as open days and liaison with local employers and schools.
* Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking examination papers, and developing and preparing flexible learning materials.
Skills and Experience
Holder of a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. Holds an appropriate teaching qualification (support given with this if required). Ideally has relevant teaching experience at Business Level 3 Extended Diploma within the FE sector. Effective communicator with good organisational skills. Understanding of law and legal services within the business sector is advantageous.
