About the Service
Hillcrest Futures are looking to recruit an individual within The Angus Mental Health Peer Support Service. This service provides peer support around mental health and wellbeing. The service is available to individuals aged 16 years old and above living within Angus. The service provides a maximum of three sessions and is aimed at those with less complex needs.
About the Role
As part of Angus tiered approach to mental health services, the Peer Support Service is at level one providing information, advice, access to self-help and self-management strategies and signposting. Peer support is defined as the help and support that people with lived experience of poor mental health and wellbeing can provide for others facing similar challenges. The Peer Support Workers are based in GP practices across North Angus (Forfar, Kirriemuir, Edzell, Brechin and Montrose).
About You
You will:
* Have personal experience of mental health and wellbeing challenges
* Have experience of supporting people with mental health challenges
* Have good communication skills
* Have an understanding of basic IT packages – Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher
* Have the ability to travel to attend meetings and facilitate groups
