A leading global marine insurance intermediary is looking to strengthen its Hull & Machinery team with a technically minded Marine Insurance Broker. The firm operates a collaborative hybrid model in South East England and is known for strategic client service, high-quality placements, and career progression.
With over 60 marine professionals and 18 team members focused on Hull business, this team is looking to grow its technical capability and ensure knowledge transfer to the next generation of brokers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Place Hull & Machinery risks with insurers, occasionally supporting Cargo and Liability placements.
* Draft and manage policy documentation, contracts, and endorsements with technical precision.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, brokers, and insurers.
* Attend client meetings, providing technical guidance on coverage and risk structuring.
* Collaborate closely with Client Executives and Broker Technicians to ensure accuracy and efficiency in placement.
* Stay up to date with marine insurance market developments, regulations, and emerging risk trends.
Requirements:
* 5+ years’ experience in marine insurance broking, ideally with a Hull & Machinery focus.
* Background in shipping or a marine underwriting environment is advantageous.
* Strong technical knowledge of Hull & Machinery wordings and placement strategy.
* Confident communicator, able to manage client-facing relationships effectively.
* Experience working with shipowners and key marine insurance touchpoints.
* Flexible hybrid working – commutable to South East England offices or home/London-based.
