About the Service - Housing & Homelessness Services
A safe home is the solid base from which you build your life. We support people who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming homeless, as well as providing specialist accommodation and outreach services for rough sleepers, veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, women and young people.
Accommodation to us doesn’t just mean a roof over your head and shelter from the elements. About the Job
The Housing Management worker is a key member our Women’s Services team in York providing a holistic housing and support service for women experiencing homelessness and multiple unmet needs including Domestic Abuse, substance use, exploitation and offending behaviour. This role involves working within the York area providing support to colleagues and individuals residing in women’s safe accommodation managed by Changing Lives. Working within the values and ethos of Changing Lives, the Housing Support Worker will demonstrate a commitment to work in an environment where people’s preferences and concerns are listened to and acted on in a timely and professional way and expectations are sensitively managed.
You will Interact with women supported by Changing Lives Services, offering emotional and practical support, and advising them so they are able to stabilise their situation, and access appropriate services and support whilst working closely with colleagues from York Women’s centre and multi agencies to empower women to live a life free from abuse.
