Facilities Transport Services are looking to recruit full time Heavy Goods Vehicle Class C Driver or a Public Service Vehicle Class D Driver to help deliver a friendly, prompt and professional service on behalf of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Principal duties may involve the transportation of waste, staff, goods and other various tasks around Trust sites and nationally.
Applicants must have good communication skills, a good geographical knowledge of Leeds and Nationwide and must be able to work effectively in a service focused environment. There is also a significant manual handling element and collection of bulk items attached to this post, plus other associated tasks, but training will be provided for these.
50hrs a week, days, rotational shift patterns, which can include weekends and bank holidays, in a dynamic and fast moving environment so a flexible working attitude is essential to the role.

High standards of quality will be expected to be delivered in line with Facilities/LTHT practices and policies.
The post holder will be expected to have basic knowledge of a number of administrative and operational functions and utilise both facilities and LTHT IT systems in order to complete their job role. Adhering to standards and practices in Trust Policy and facilities practices/procedural manuals alongside national initiatives, to ensure that a safe and clean environment is provided for patients.
To be a point of contact for patients and other visitors to the Trust and provide a warm friendly welcome offering directions, support and assistance.

2. JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The post holder is member of the facilities operational team and will be responsible for carrying out any duties commensurate with the Ensure an adequate supply of items/equipment necessary for the role are maintained.
Ensure that all duties are carried out in line with quality control procedures using standard facilities documentation.
Receipt of incoming deliveries/goods/products ensuring that all goods inwards are checked against delivery notes and official orders. Ensuring that items meet quality and quantity specified and any good specific requirements.
The collection and delivery movement of patients, staff, food, goods, blood products, clinic notes, post and pharmacy to all wards and departments.
The removal of waste carts to designated areas in line with Trust Policy.
The good housekeeping of the hospital/work environment and equipment internally/externally related to the specific job role using approved methods and equipment/mechanical aids to national/Trust standards to ensure that a professional image is maintained at all times.
To follow all local method statements & risk assessments to ensure that the role is undertaken in a safe, secure manner.
Act on feedback given from any quality assurance system
Communication with allied health professionals/trust staff members to ensure that the patients health and wellbeing is being maintained in helping to deliver excellent clinical outcomes.
To report any faults/issues/complaints regarding service provision or equipment immediately to the supervisor or other appropriate senior Trust staff member
To complete and record role specific data/information either electronically or in written format that is required complying with operational procedures or local/Trust/National policy and audit recommendations/controls.
To provide a warm profession welcome and supportive communication to patients and visitors to the Trust, providing an efficient and courteous service.
Use and maintain any role specific databases/hardware/software, in accordance with departmental guidelines.
To organise and sort goods/items in an effectively manner for distribution across the Trust sites according to schedules.
To deputise when required for the Facilities Supervisors
Maintain effective communication with patients, colleagues in all working areas.
Demonstrate the desire to provide a high quality facilities service.
Display a working knowledge and understanding of service users needs and requirements.
Ability to follow instructions and make judgements at the time of service delivery.
Ability to record any information required for facilities services.
To be flexible and adapt to changes in circumstances which impact on patient care.
