About the Pub The Somerset Arms is a large roadside pub in Port Talbot. It consists of a large bar and lounge, a well equipped catering kitchen and car parking for over 40 cars. The private accommodation consists of three bedrooms. The pub currently offers a great welcome to its loyal drinks led customers and good value family dining. The pub has recently been refurbished and while it retains a traditional layout also has some contemporary touches As you enter the pub you are welcomed by a spacious bar. There is eating and drinking throughout the pub. The pub is traditionally decorated throughout and has been well kept by the outgoing publican. There is a mixture of wooden fixed and loose seating that can be re-arranged to a new seating plan, if required. The lounge is a smaller area with a much warmer and cosy feel with an open fireplace and exposed wooden beams. There are two separate patio areas to the front and side of the pub that can be used for outside drinking and dining. Regional Manager's Thoughts I am looking for a publican that can continue catering for the local community. You will need to have strong catering skills and the ability to drive footfall to the pub. The Somerset Arms is in need of some investment and nurturing; therefore, I need a publican with an achievable five year plan on how to develop this pub business further. Surrounding Area Port Talbot is a thriving town with plenty of amenities such as shops, supermarkets, schools, parks and leisure centres. It lies between Swansea and Bridgend and has great links to the M4 motorway. The pub itself is surrounded by a popular residential area and generates a strong local trade. When stood looking at the Somerset Arms behind is a picturesque view of the green hillsides, making this pub the perfect location for visitors and walkers to rest and take in the views.
