Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band B Senior Dental Officer post at our Cowes Special Care Dental Service within the Solent NHS Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, reliable team player with excellent communication skills. We are seeking an experienced and motivated dentist to join our dynamic Special Care Dental Service to deliver routine and urgent dental care to patients who are unable to access care in the General Dental Services due to additional needs, social and behavioural limitations, domiciliary dental needs, anxiety management and bariatric care.

Care will be provided to patients referred to or under long-term care of the service, under local anaesthesia, inhalation, intravenous or intranasal sedation and general anaesthesia where appropriate. The post offers the chance to work in our dental surgeries with support from experienced dental nurses and therapists to assist you in achieving your UDA target and working within NHS Regulations. There will be opportunities to develop special interests, supported by a team including Specialists in Special Care Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry and GA/Sedation. You are required to be GDC registered and have an active performer number.
