Role Overview
Provide administrative support to the cardiac rehabilitation team, including organising appointments, managing the cardiac rehabilitation database for the National Audit for Cardiac Rehabilitation (NACR), handling the help line, and maintaining patient and audit records.
Main Duties
* Provide secretarial and administrative support to the cardiac rehabilitation team, organising appointments.
* Maintain, input and analyse data for cardiac rehabilitation audits, including the NACR audit; issue questionnaires, assess responses and coordinate data submission.
* Answer calls from patients and relatives sensitively.
* Obtain investigation results from the Cardiology department.
* Check all correspondence for urgent matters and respond accordingly.
* Liaise with primary, tertiary care and other cardiac rehabilitation teams, including the heart failure team.
* Retrieve notes from medical records and track them using the hospital PAS system.
* Register and raise notes on the system when required.
* Manage filing systems, information retrieval and stock control; order stationery and patient leaflets as needed.
* Contribute to policy development.
* Attend departmental planning meetings.
Qualifications
* GCSE English language (minimum grade C) or equivalent.
* ECDL or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.

* Initiative and ability to work independently within a team.
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines.
Experience
* Recent administration or secretarial experience.
* Experience working in a healthcare setting.
* Handling confidential medical records.
Knowledge
* Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Office and PAS.
* Understanding of Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act, health records access and documentation requirements.
* Knowledge of health and safety legislation and equality issues.
Personal Circumstances
* Ability to work across sites if required.

Salary
£25,760 to £27,476 per annum, pro rata.

This position requires a DBS check (Rehabilitation of Offenders Act exceptions order) which will be carried out by the applicant; associated costs will be deducted from salary.
