Overview
Building Surveyor - Scotland at Sedgwick, Girvan, Scotland, United Kingdom. Permanent position with a competitive remuneration package. You will lead and manage projects to restore properties damaged by insured perils, with values ranging from £50k to £5m. Depending on project size, you may work alone or lead a small team with QSs, CAD technicians, and engineers.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage projects to restore insured properties (values from £50k to £5m).
* Conduct technical reporting, defect diagnosis, prepare Schedules of Works, contract administration, and project management.
* Empathise with clients who have suffered loss or bereavement and deliver professional reports within tight deadlines.
* Manage workloads and make reasoned decisions under pressure.
* Collaborate with Loss Adjusting teams and, where appropriate, attract non-insurance clients.
Qualifications
* A full UK Driving Licence (essential for travel by car).
* Excellent communication skills – ability to speak with and write to policyholders, insurers, contractors, and others; explain complex details clearly and negotiate settlements.
* Extensive knowledge of building construction and relevant legislation.
* Chartered status (or working towards). MRICS or MCIOB preferred; at minimum actively working towards Chartered status.
