Job Description:
An amazing job opportunity has arisen for a committed Consultant Psychiatrist to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in the Stockton-on-the-Forest, York area. You will be working for one of UK’s leading health care providers.
This is a medium secure psychiatric hospital, which cares for both mental illness and learning disability patients, including an Autistic Spectrum Disorder service and a female service.
To be considered for this position you must hold a full GMC Registration.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your key responsibilities include:
1. Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews, and developing a therapeutic milieu.
2. Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
3. Supervising the process of referral and admission, including contributing to preadmission assessments of young people with other team members.
4. Offering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team regarding assessment, formulation, and treatment of young people.
5. Contributing to management and clinical governance meetings and helping develop service strategy.
6. Participating in in-house training programs and supervising other team members, especially junior medical staff.
7. Maintaining CPD and re-validation requirements as per Royal College of Psychiatrists or relevant bodies.
The following skills and experience are preferred:
1. Experience as Responsible Clinician to patients.
2. Holding a CCT or equivalent in Forensic Psychiatry, Learning Disability, or General Psychiatry.
3. Experience working with women in a secure service.
4. Participation in an on-call rota (non-residential).
The successful candidate will receive an excellent salary of £160,000 per annum. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours a week. Benefits include:
