About Responsible Commodities Sourcing Initiative
The Responsible Commodities Sourcing Initiative (RECOSI) is a non-profit organisation that drives continuous improvement in responsible commodity sourcing. We guide and support our members in their due diligence monitoring of their supply chains and support producers to enhance their environment, social, and governance (ESG) performance. We run the international coal mining standard, the ‘Bettercoal Code’, which has been operating for over a decade. Since 2022, we have been building a programme for our Members’ gas supply chains – RECOSI Gas.
About the role
We are looking to appoint an ESG Programmes Coordinator to join our team. You will play a key role in ensuring our assessment and assurance processes run efficiently, accurately and meet our remit of promoting continuous improvement in the commodities supply chains.
This role will work across all RECOSI programmes. Key areas of this role include producer onboarding and assessor training, coordinating the supplier assessment process, producer monitoring and evaluation, and member engagement.
Key Responsibilities
· Support producer recruitment and onboarding.
· Maintain documentation and assist in assurance processes.
· Aid in training Lead Assessors and Assessment Teams.
· Coordinate tender selection for Assessors.
· Coordinate the planning of producer Site-Assessments, with opportunities for attending as an observer.
· Managing our online assurance platforms.
· Analyse assessment data and provide updates to stakeholders.
· Monitor producers’ claims and ensure accuracy.
· Contribute to RECOSI Member groups and events.
· Present at meetings and engage with members.
· Support in capacity-building initiatives, such as webinars.
Requirements:
· 1-2 years’ experience working in a standards or supply chain due diligence role, focusing on ESG issues.
· Detailed, methodical approach supported by a good understanding of sustainability issues, such as
environmental impact, labour and working conditions, responsible sourcing and human rights.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to cooperate, communicate and work
effectively in a team and alongside other colleagues.
· Experience working with multi-stakeholder groups.
· Strong project management, with the ability to multi-task projects that move at a variety of speeds.
· High proficiency in verbal and written English.
· An exceptional eye for detail, particularly within the written word.
· Self-motivated, able to work autonomously, as well as part of a small team.
· Educated to under-grad level in a relevant subject.
