What the Job Involves As a Rent Arrears and Recovery Officer within the Shared Finance Service, you are responsible for administering, collecting, and recovering housing rent and temporary accommodation charges. Your focus is on early intervention to prevent rent arrears from escalating, offering debt counseling, and referring tenants to support agencies as needed. You will monitor rent accounts, serve legal notices, attend court hearings if necessary, and contribute to income maximization strategies. You will also work in partnership with various departments and agencies to prevent arrears and homelessness. Acting as a mentor, you will assist in the induction of new staff and work proactively to meet performance targets.
