A well-established and growing UK manufacturing business is seeking a Design Engineer to support the design and development of engineered fluid-handling and spray-based product solutions used across commercial and industrial environments. This is a hands-on role focused on product design, improvement, and innovation, working closely with production, sales, and operations to deliver practical, efficient, and high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities Design and develop engineered products and assemblies, including pipework, brackets, housings, nozzles, fittings, and associated components Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings, detail drawings, and assembly layouts Support new product development (NPD/NPI), prototyping, and testing activities Work closely with manufacturing to ensure designs are robust, cost-effective, and suitable for volume production Develop and maintain BOMs, technical specifications, and engineering documentation Support the adaptation and customisation of products to meet customer-specific requirements and site constraints Liaise with internal stakeholders to translate functional requirements into clear engineering solutions Manage engineering change requests and continuous improvement initiatives Support troubleshooting activities related to performance, quality, installation, or assembly challenges Ensure all designs comply with appropriate safety standards and regulatory requirementsBeneficial Skills / Qualifications: Proven experience in a Design Engineer or Product Design role within a manufacturing environment Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit or similar) Practical understanding of manufacturing methods, materials, and tolerances Experience designing products involving mechanical assemblies, tubing/pipework, fittings, or fabricated components Ability to work collaboratively across design, production, and commercial teams Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, solutions-focused mindset Excellent attention to detail and documentation standards Confident managing multiple design tasks and priorities Background in fluid systems, spray systems, HVAC-related products, or industrial equipment Experience with plastic mouldings, machined parts, or fabricated metal components HNC / HND / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or similar discipline Exposure to continuous improvement or lean manufacturing environmentsAdditional Information: Opportunity to play a key role in the development of technical, physical products used in real-world applications Join a stable and growing manufacturer with long-term ambitions Varied work covering design, improvement, and product evolution Supportive team environment with potential for career progression Competitive salary and benefits package
