Project Manager – Water Capital Delivery at Southern Water. Location: Chatham or Falmer – Hybrid Working with Site Visits. Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on skills and experience. Closing Date: 16/09/2025.
Role Overview: As a Project Manager in Water Capital Delivery, you will lead infrastructure projects with budgets up to £2 million, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes. These projects will focus on enhancing water supply and distribution systems through innovative engineering solutions, asset upgrades, and operational improvements. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of capital infrastructure projects from concept to completion to support Southern Water’s strategic goals and improve water resilience, efficiency, and service delivery across the network.
Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver water infrastructure projects aligned with regulatory standards and company objectives.
* Manage all phases of project delivery including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
* Drive improvements in water infrastructure through asset upgrades, network enhancements, and process optimisation.
* Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth delivery and compliance.
* Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain transparency and alignment.
* Monitor financial performance and ensure projects meet budgetary targets and KPIs.
* Balance cost, quality, and time constraints to deliver sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
About You / Qualifications
* Proven experience managing capital infrastructure projects, ideally within the water or utilities sector.
* Strong understanding of project lifecycle management and experience with NEC contracts or similar frameworks.
* Financially astute with a track record of managing budgets and delivering value.
* Skilled in stakeholder engagement, risk management, and navigating complex project environments.
* Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and business case development skills.
* Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
