The shift pattern for this post is 9am – 5pm, Mon-Fri, worked over 3 days. Salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.
Working as part of the Health Improvement Team in the Public Health Directorate, you will coordinate, develop and deliver a Family Support Service within the Royal Hospital for Children. This post provides tailored support to navigate and assist families to access patient information and support services relevant to their situation and individual needs.
Responsibilities
You will play a key role in the day-to-day operational management of the Family Support & Information Service (FSIS) as a centre for information on health improvement, condition management and support issues for patients, visitors, carers, families, staff and students using the service across the Greater Glasgow & Clyde area.
Working as part of a team, you will deliver a range of services aimed at maximising health improvement opportunities and empowering individuals and families to manage long-term conditions. Your responsibilities will also include developing and delivering crisis support packages, providing patient information, connecting families with non-clinical partner organisations, and providing non-clinical support to families during their child’s hospital care.
Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, you should be able to demonstrate experience in Health Improvement, Public Health, or a related health and wellbeing field. A strong understanding of the principles and practices of health improvement is essential. A knowledge of health inequalities and barriers to accessing health care services is required, along with proven skills in project planning and management, negotiation, problem-solving, and partnership working.
