This opportunity seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support K-12 students with mild to moderate disabilities in Charleston, SC. The role involves working onsite within one school location, serving an average-sized caseload tailored to your qualifications and experience. The position is full-time, five days per week, approximately 40 hours each week, focusing on general special education duties.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate disabilities.
* Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to address student needs.
* Monitor and assess student progress, adapting instructional strategies as necessary.
* Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
* Participate in professional development and school meetings as required.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors or Masters Degree in Special Education.
* Valid LD (Learning Disabilities) or Multi-categorical certification.
* South Carolina teaching license is mandatory.
* Prior experience working with K-12 students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred.
* Ability to manage a caseload effectively within one school location.
Work Location:
* Charleston, SC area including James Island, Mt. Pleasant, and nearby communities.
* Onsite position; virtual candidates will not be considered.
* Candidates will be placed in locations best suited to their residence and experience.
