What You’ll Do
As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will:
* Promote positive development by creating a safe and nurturing environment for our young people.
* Provide emotional and social support, helping them build meaningful relationships.
* Encourage self-esteem and respect, empowering each young person to make positive life choices.
* Maintain detailed records of daily progress and care plans, ensuring the highest standards of care.
* Collaborate with a dedicated team, including health advisors, social workers, and families.
* Support daily living needs and engage young people in household activities, including meal planning and preparation.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following attributes:
* A positive and proactive approach to engaging with young people.
* Self-motivation and a reflective nature.
* Strong listening and empathy skills.
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Experience in the care sector or residential care is a plus.
* A relevant qualification or a commitment to pursue a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
* Willingness to work some Bank Holidays.
Working Conditions
Your working hours will be:
* 08:00 AM - 08:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
* Weekly rotation: 36 hours one week, 48 hours the next
* Minimum average of 168 hours per month
* Waking Night contracts available
